I'm eating a happy helping of leftover turkey and stuffing in between loads of laundry and severe house-cleaning.
Yesterday, Jacquelyn and I went shoe-shopping with kiwikat which was awesome. After much disappointment at several usually-reliable footwear outlets, I finally found a good pair of winter shoes. Which are boots. I'm not a boot kind of guy, but these look like fairly sharp shoes if you don't know they're boots. I lurve them and God, they are warm. Snow and ice, fear me!
Afterward, Jacquelyn and I got some homework done at Panera then walked over to Sundance to see Synecdoche, New York - Charlie Kaufman's new film. Holy shit was it good. Not simple popcorn fare. It was intellectually and emotionally engaging and exhausting. I walked out of the theatre and felt like I was on a drug, a thousand miles from reality. This is a holographic novel on film, it's an entire life with all the humor, pitfalls, regrets, and tragedies. I can't say enough good things about it and trying to describe it couldn't do it justice. Like all true things, it is both intensely personal and transcendentally archetypal at the same time.
Cinematic orgasm = David Fincher directing a Charlie Kaufman script.
Showering is in my near future. Yes, very soon.
