My ideas for the novel are solidifying somewhat.  If I can pull it off.  One of my favorite writers once said that a writer should always be trying to write something they aren't sure they have the ability to write.  I see it as a sort of extension of that shoot-for-the-stars, only by reaching for unattainable do we find greatness deal.  I do at least have a working title and on the NaNoWriMo site, they ask for a book cover for the novel info, so I made this, which took about ten minutes.  I am going to try and get some more actual writing done today but other things keep stepping in the way.

For instance, I spent most of my morning so far planning my spring class schedule.  As it stands, it looks like I will be taking Intermediate Algebra, Creative Writing, East-West Worldview, and Social Problems.  Oh, and probably an 8:30am yoga class.  I can't register for the classes until 4pm so I have a little while to mull it over.  If I take all of those, that's 14 credits.  Eeek.

Also, I am going to THORPS to get my hair cut.  It has been forever.  My cutter, Stephen, opened his own shop and between the transition and money woes, I just haven't been able to get trimmed.  Which means I've been wearing lots of hats.

Add to this a trip to the grocery store, laundry, and studying for two tests, one in Abormal Psychology (anxiety & mood disorders, depression & suicide) and one in Classical Mythology (all the hero tales, Hercules, Perseus, Theseus, Jason, Oedipus, Troy, etc...), I've got quite the day ahead of me, considering it's my day off.

P.S.  I also made this awesome boxing Sherlock Holmes icon.

  • If your thoughts and feelings and actions arise unconsciously, you are going to create a reality that's a mirror image of your incompletions - the half-realized intentions, unfinished relationships, blocked desires, and unexpressed responses. If they just sit there, unlooked at, unread, they will shape the condition of your world.

  • Reality is like a train rushing down the track. If you want to change reality, it isn't enough to be on the train or even to be an engineer. The track itself runs straight ahead and there isn't any way you can swerve off the track to change what's going to happen. In order to change reality, you have to get out in front of the train and lay down a new set of tracks all together.
