I was struck by lightning this morning.

Seriously.

Well, at least I think so. Let me give you the 411 (that means information) and you can decide for yourself.

I left work at 5:30 this morning to discover that it was raining. A lot. And there were massive bolts of lightning illuminating the sky. The water came down in blinding torrents, overwhelming my windshield wipers. Thunder roared overhead like a chorus of pizza and beer belches.

The following events happened in the snap of fingers, in the crack of a whip: I felt a slight warmth just as everything went white. An electric crackle and a transistor-like pop resounded loudly above my head. And then the world came back.

Was my car stuck by lightning? It wasn't just like a bright bolt near me, all around me was a single blinding strobe of light, and the thunder peal like a shattering light bulb sounded like it was mere inches from the top of my head. Does anyone know what happens to a car if it is struck? Will the electrical system be kersizzled? Do the rubber tires ground-out the vehicle?

I had better be careful; the sky gods are aiming for me.

omg.

I'm fairly sure the tires ground out the electricity. I'd call a mechanic if you're concerned.

Yes, from what I have hear the car is one of the safest places to be during lightning for just that reason, rubber tires. But if you are worried about the car having it checked out couldn't hurt.

wow. sure sounds like it. i wonder if you have magic powers now...and if you do, what they may be. Try moving things with just your brain. Try to levitate the cat.

A friend of mine had a car struck by lightening and the car was fine- the rubber tires and all that. Still, that's pretty damned cool. Maybe they aren't aiming- maybe they gave you a present.

funny coincedence?

Rubber Tires do ground out a vehicle.

You were given a gift...how did it feel to be in the center of the flow?

That feeling was the gift.

See it how you wish, but you were blessed...even if the car ends up with problems(and it most likely will - get yer electrical system checked asap b4 it does happen)
