Late at night I page through esoteric texts and remember where I've been.
"People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own souls. The will practice Indian yoga with all its exercises, observe a strict diet, learn theosophy by heart, or mechanically repeat mystic texts from the literature of the whole world - all because they can not get on with themselves and have not the slightest faith that anything useful could ever come out of their own souls." - Carl Gustav Jung
I found my answer and moved on. If you linger in the unconscious too long, you become like Theseus and Pirithous in Hades - you sit and you are stuck and you forget why you are there. Remember: the shaman did not live in the unconscious - the shaman would only visit, find an answer or reunite a fragmented soul, and then come back. It is not a place for the living.

While I used to believe metaphysics/yoga/etc. were the answer to Everything, now I feel they are excellent tools to have in the tool box.
Agreed. There's no substitute for being there.
