The boy can run.

Here are some photos of Ethan running in his cross-country meets.  He's continually beating his previous records.  During the last meet, his best so far, he ran the 5k in 22:48, which is pretty fantastic.  I am very proud of him for sticking with this and putting so much time and effort into it.

Nice shoes. :)
Also - beating Marquette is always excellent!

That's amazing, i really wish I could develop a love of something like running. :-/

That *is* fantastic for 5K! The last time I timed mine I still couldn't break 30 min.

The girl's teams only run 4K and I don't know if that should bother me or not.

YES! IT SHOULD BOTHER YOU!

Holy crap that's like a 7 minute mile. He may be long, but those legs really get him around! Please wish Ethan some congratulations from me, those times are quite a feat.

Cool! Especially cool because cross country is one of those things where (as far as I can tell) it isn't as stratified into varsity, JV, etc., so he can go where he fits -- and because West has a great program. I hope he keeps doing it!

Man he looks like he got TALL!

It's neat how excited he is about it all too, he was all about showing his pictures and stuff the other day. : )

He's so long and tall and skinny! I guess I still remember him as a cute chubby-faced kid when we carved pumpkins a couple of years ago.

Look at those quads! Now that he's (hopefully) done growing vertically, we can start putting some meat on his bones.
