I think it's menopause.

Still sick.  Stayed home again today.  Feel better during the days, but spend the nights freezing, yet sweating.

ACK! You might want a second opinion on that menopause theory. Wishing you well!

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm guessing my doctor might argue with me about my complete lack of ovaries.

[identity profile] brdgt.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Get well soon!

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Whew, thanks! I was waiting for you to give me permission :)

Jacquelyn was looking up causes of night sweats amd one of the top ones was TB and I said, "Aww, now Bridget will be my best friend!"

In the end, as the title of my subject indicates, I decided I'm going through menopause.

When you start spitting up blood, call me - I'll be right over with a sputum cup.

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Sweet, I've always wanted to use a sputum cup! Wait, you keep sputum cups laying around the house?!

[identity profile] brdgt.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, I'm so crafty I can make one out of a piece of paper and a paperclip!

I'm also talking to the girl who carries around a case of contraception and a wooden penis.

That sounds like what I had before I started spitting into that beer at the Essen Haus, just kidding. right?

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
I can't believe you got confused AGAIN! I told you a hundred times, the spittoon is on the FLOOR and the glass is on the TABLE, not vice versa.

At least this time, you were spitting in the glass and not drinking from the spittoon, like last time :D

speaking from personal experience in reguards to the freezing thing, drinking lots of hot beverages helps warm up my insides and also a hot shower. I hate that feeling of being cold and not being able to get warm no matter what you try.

But just thought I'd suggest wht works for me, hope you feel better soon.

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks, I'll give it a shot!

Get up, change sheets, repeat. ;-)

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Just got them out of the dryer :)

[identity profile] labelle77.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
that is very sad. i was mostly better today, just a little woozy. i found ibuprofen in large doses (i'm bad and take four at a time, the equivalent of prescription strength) helped immensely. i'm starting to feel a little burny/freezing as the night creeps on but hopefully it won't be too bad. what a weird illness.

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
I was still a little cold, yet sweating a lot (thought not as much as the last couple nights) last night, and when I woke up I feel fine. Weird indeed!

[identity profile] marie-paris.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
I've been trained in holistic nutritional analysis and I can't think of anything causing night sweats beyond fever, overcomsumption of caffeinated beverages, metabolism dropping which can be thyroid related, and hormone changes.

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm.. I do drink a lot of tea, but no more than usual. Plus, a friend has the same illness.. feels almost fine most of the time, but then freeze/sweat at night. Odd indeed.

[identity profile] marie-paris.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
though you could be marathon training in your sleep and you just don't remember it.

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... I'll keep that in mind. Does that mean I have a chance of winning a dream marathon?!

[identity profile] marie-paris.livejournal.com 2007-10-27 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but you may have to fly over the finish line to win!

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-27 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
That shouldn't be a problem, I often have trouble with gravity in dreams :)

it's manopause

[identity profile] choogy.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
oh noes! i'd send a hug but, you know. i'll hug you with my prodding stick instead. wait, that sounds phallic and filthy. i'll air mail some invisible e-net chicken soup.

i hope you feel better soon buddy. xoxo

Re: it's manopause...I've never manstruated..

[identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I still was cold yet sweaty last night, but not as bad and the previous two nights, and I felt fine as soon as I got out of bed. If I'm not back to normal by Monday, I'll probably call my doctor to say WTF?

E-soup tastes like chicken.

Thanks!

When my mom went through menopause, dad and the cat were also diagnosed as going through the change. It's contagious.

God, like sympathetic pregnancy! ACK!
