Beer steins and big as your leg, catfish sandwiches, and desserts too pretty to eat.

This past weekend Jacquelyn and I went out with some friends to celebrate the successful defense of her thesis.  She is now a Master of Science.  No rest for the wicked though - she's already started on her Ph.D.

We had dinner and drinks at Natt Spiel, then moved on to CocoLiquot for drinks and dessert and then finished off the evening at Essen Haus for deep-fried snacks and communal beer from giant, giant glasses.

I spent today procrastinating.  I was supposed to write a paper for psychology, an essay on How I Learned To Be Me.  I spent most of the morning making icons and finally, after lunch, wrote the paper.  I was supposed to use the text, which is mainly neuro-cognitive and behaviorist is scope, to analyze my personality.

Sorry, I spent way too much time dissecting my psyche, conscious and unconscious, in the Freudian/Jungian/Gurdjieffian/Wilberian/Crowleyan systems to pretend that my personality was formed solely by operant conditioning and genetic and chemical disposition.  Instead, I did some dream analysis, which we touched on briefly, and general reactions to stimuli and perceptions.

I think I'm getting sick.  I'm having hot and cold flashes and my legs are sore and weak.  I'm drinking water and tea like it's going out of style and hoping I feel better before morning.  I have to work and have class, in which I must hand in said paper.  I still have to do some surface research for my drama class project, an exploration of the use of masks in theatre.

Until we meet again...

aw jinkies, robin. i hope you feel better soon and i hope it's nothing too hardcore. like i said back in comments, i wish i had gotten a chance to see more of you. [that's not a come-on.]

i think the dream analysis was a fantastic idea to write in a comfort zone; good for you. sending lysol'd high fives. xoxo

Better buy stock in Lysol, I'm one sick puppy. I was awake most of the night, freezing cold, shivering, and sweating profusely. I'm taking the day off work and probably school. This is weird, I almost never get sick. Good thing my immune system kicks ass.

Yes, but is she a Master of Weird Science?

Congrats to your woman.
Good luck with your paper.

Congrats to Miss Jacquelyn! And the last time I had catfish, it tasted like potting soil. Hope yours was better :o)

It was great. I am a big fan of catfish (obviously not the potting-soil kind.)

Once I are duck at a fancy dinner-theatre and it tasted like dirt.

my brother and I used to catch catfish in the big pond. As I recall, they like chicken livers as bait. Anyway, whatever we caught, we'd give to Mumma to fry up. YUMMMMM! I miss that pond :o(

I used to catch catfish when I was a wee lad, but most of them were bullheads so they never got kept nor eaten. I decided it was way more fun to catch turtles and frogs and crayfish to keep as pets in my little swimming pool :P

oh, and I hope you feel better really soon!

Thanks. I felt better most of yesterday but still spent last night freezing, yet sweating. I think I'm going to stay home another day :(
