Sunday morning armchair politicking.

A new poll shows Bush's approval rating has dropped again, now to an all-time low of 28%.  When Watergate was in full swing, Nixon's approval rating was 39%.  During his impeachment, Bill Clinton had his highest approval rating - a whopping 73%, higher than Reagan ever had.

Last week Dick Cheney, whose approval rating is a hobbit-sized 9%, was heckled and booed as he went into his doctor's office.  Dennis Kucinich started impeachment proceedings against Mr. Cheney last week as well, saying that he didn't chose Bush because then Cheney would be become president and he didn't think the country could handle two consecutive impeachments.  Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney, indeed.  I'm not being rude, I'm just throwing his own words back in his face.

Yesterday during a 25-year Law School reunion, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was heckled and protested while pictures were being taken.  When the photographer was getting everyone lined up and having people say "Cheese!", the protesters yelled, "Say torture, instead!", "Resign!", and "I don't recall!".  Students followed him into the library chanting 'shame' and 'resign' until his security detail whisked him away to his motorcade.

This is the end of the end, I feel.  Most of the country has lost all respect for these incompetent louts.  I can only hope and pray, petition the universe or whathaveyou, that we have finally learned our lesson and we will never fall for such antics again, that the horror this administration has inflicted on the world, on our country, on our citizens, on the Constitution, is never again permitted.  There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

I liked Harry Reid's comment last week: "I'm not going to get into a name-calling match with somebody who has a 9 percent approval rating,"

I loved that! And then called him the White House attack-dog! :P

Now, the trick is not letting ourselves get fooled again.

I think we'll find what happens when the next president is in office and just how much we as a country put up with. If we end up with another rebublican I will be doing the best I can to get out of the country. I'm tired of religion dictating legeslature and being lied to and this endless war.

You've probably already seen this (http://www.rense.com/general37/char.htm) but I thought I'd link it in case not.

The objective social conditions and the economic class interests which allowed this joker to seize power in the first place still exist, and will exist after he is gone. That is the problem.

Peak Oil is still a reality. The reckless gambit in the Middle East to position America for Peak Oil and to prop up the failing Petrodollar has failed, mostly due to a corrupt, politicized Pentagon stuck in WW1 tactics and also due to the fact that Iraq is a country of MEN, where the word "honour" is a reality and not a slogan, a problem they never counted on.

The country is still bankrupt and de-industrialized. The economy is likely to collapse under the pressure of the fall of the Petrodollar, Bush/Reagon's massive debts and deficits (most of which are "off-budget"/"off-books" and still not recognized), and the massive trade imbalance with Asia.

The police state is still growing and intact, and will certainly not be reduced by the likes of any Dem machine politico.

And, worst of all, the One Percent are still on top. They are the real enemy, don't forget. Any suit with a microphone and a fake smile you see is one of their puppets only.

In sum, Revolution or Halliburton work-camps. That is America's choice for the future. The first republic is over.
