jackshoegazer: (Politics/Morons)

Thoughts, now that rage has worn off.

The Republicans spent something like $80 million investigating the Clintons until they managed to dig up an intern, a cigar, and the definition of "is", so rest assured these "fiscal conservatives" will spend as much as they need to to get at Obama.

It saves them the trouble of actually having to do anything. They sit on their hands for two years, the economy stays in the crapper, and out goes Obama in 2012. The majority of the populace are dumb as stumps when it comes to economics and they think politicians are flies - as long as the economy stinks, the electorate will keep swatting them down. Whoever's in charge when things get fixed will get the credit. So until the depression/recession is really, really over, it's going to be a game of political musical chairs.

At least we have the veto.

Also, Bernie Sanders, the Independent Senator from Vermont, wrote a great piece on what we can expect the next few years.
