Pure, unadulterated, hedonic materialism.

Oh, Twothousandandseven, is it time for you to leave so soon?  I've not tired of scribbling your name on my checks and paperwork!  We have unfinished business to attend to!  What is that you say?  Your baby brother, Twothousandandeight is coming over?  Sweet.

I don't have the words for a post so I'll post some pictures instead.  Mostly of Christmas loot.  I received Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on DVD from Ethan and The Ralph McQuarrie Concept Darth Vader from [personal profile] brdgt and [profile] strangedasein, which rules.  My father and his wife are coming over on Sunday, so I'm not sure what they've gotten me.  Hopefully no more candles.  Jacquelyn got me some lovely things which will be chronicled in pictoral format below.

Jacquelyn got me this awesome Merinos wool cap from Italy.  I lurve the hats.  I imagine myself with a large collection of them as I age.

She also got me this amazing sweater/hoodie from Jazzman.  It's so comfortable and I love the little details, like the pockets and the stitched birds and the plaid inside of the hood.  Here's a close-up:

I've been dealing with a crap beard trimmer for a couple years now and Jacquelyn was perceptive enough to get me an über high tech one.

Yes, I wear Bulgari Aqua.

I also received some nice books.  I can't decide which should be my first book of 2008.

We're going to grab some brunch and run to the yarn store.

Oooh...you'll have to post your thoughts when you get through "Boomeritis". It's gotten mixed reviews, but I think it sounds really interesting.

What are you going to a yarn store for?

P.S. I want your sweater.
Is Jazzman expensive? I know it's voted as Madison's favorite Men's clothing store, but what a horrible name. I always thought it was just suits and stuff.

I'll let you (and the journal) know. Apparently it's supposed to be so meta and post-modern that it's supposed to be just as bad as it is :P

Jacquelyn needed something for a crochet project she's working on.

You can't have it. Sorry :(

Yes, they are. Very. I was having serious class-warfare issues while I was in there. You don't even want to know how much that sweater cost. It's 100% Merino wool.

They've got a lot of stuff though, from jeans to shoes to jackets to suits, to hoodies to t-shirts to hats. Some of it is reasonable, some of it is expensive, but ti all seems to be very high-quality, even though sometimes you're definitely paying for a name.

Oooh ok. I thought you were going for you. :)
