Oh, Honey. This is so beautiful and powerful and honest and real. I'm very, very proud of you.

I think a lot of the blocks you have with emotions in your have to do with the things you experienced growing up, the terrible and unfair things that you had to put up with, tearless. I think as you open them up, those channels will start to flow and your writing will betray much more vulnerability and less distracting language acrobatics. This doesn't mean that I think you should completely change your genre, but rather bring a new sense of authenticiy to anything you're writing, whether it be the comical or the profound. In other words, only good can come out of these exercises, whether personally or with your writing.
