I stood on the precipice, my eyes locked, focused on a point of infinity, so far away.  The light shone bright in the distance, a cosmic, custodial spark, burning away the filth of the world.  It was I, and only I who knew this was merely the outer manifestation.  The atomic janitor was doing his real work inside, on the opposite end of that infinite stare, burning away who I had been.
